Description: This is a nice section of open river reminiscent of the Windrush. It provides good brown trout fishing during the spring and summer and always produces fish to over 1lb. There is also Chub, Dace, Roach and Pike with the best of the coarse fishing in the summer and autumn with dace to 1lb, chub to 4lb and roach to over 2lb.
In 2012 ninety one brown trout were recorded with a best of 16”; numerous fish of 12” to 14” were also caught along with a few chub to 15”.
Access – Unfortunately the road bridge that provided access to the beat has been washed away over winter. To access the beat you need to drive around to the far side of the beat. Some parking is available on this side of the river (please do not block gateways) but there is little room for turning around so it will probably be necessary to reverse back out along the lane.
An additional token box has been provided on the other side of the river (inside upstream gate, on the left hand side). Sorry for this inconvenience but hopefully you will still enjoy the fishing?
Restrictions: Any method. All trout under 8” must be returned, no more than 2 trout to be retained per day. All other fish to be returned. Please undertake catch and release to best practice guidelines.
